  I was at lansing when i was 15-16 years of age so back in 95-96 and i have to say that at times staff members could be a little to rough but it was not like they were trying to. Lansing taught me so much about myself and i turned my life around because of this place. I am sorry it closed but i would like to thank the staff i did have because of you all i was able to have a better life

  Is this previous reviewer on drugs?! I was a resident there. IT IS A HORRIBLE PLACE. The staff sexually, physcially, and mentally abuse the children. I was a witness and a victim. Its people ike you that lie and try to make this place seem like a freaking saint that makes me sick. Everyone need to know to never allow your children to stay in this place. Fight hard for other options. Parents should listen to their children when they say horrible things are happening to them because 9 times out of 10 it is really happening. I feel bad for those that don't have a voice. I am also angry at parents that do not care aout their children.

  Well..Lansing Residential is a nice place...If you exclude the residents. From the outside its not much. Just an ugly brick building. Inside the main building is a front desk..in which someone stands behind bulletproof glass. Oh but wait first you have to go through the giant set of doors that only staff has keys to. Or they buzz you in...First thing to your right is a tiny little room that is used for "Visitation" straight ahead there is a dining hall. before the dining hall there is a classroom...and a little after the classroom is a staff office....go up a set of stairs and you have the "Sunflower Unit" and another that i cant really remember...these units consist of at least 10 girls...each with individual room that they are locked into at night. Every girls has a pair of navy blue sweatpants on along with a blue t shirt and maybe a navy blue sweatshirt. on school days there are navy blue trouser pants with white and navy blue striped button downs...mostly long sleeve. Going back outside there is a back...go into the back and look to your left and there is a very beautiful pond with some old pew like stone structures. to your right if you look closely you see three buildings...straight ahead is a school hall...to the right of that would be another unit..on the other side you have the phys ed lounge...an old unit with a bunch of various work out machines...(i.e treadmills and bike things)....then going back by the pond there is a small road which leads up to an old unused building...then there is a vast field...then my favorite a pool (if your child could be in the nicest center it would be this one...only in the summer is the pool used though) the pool has a deep and shallow end and its an in-ground pool we are given navy blue one piece sits a pair of goggles and a head cap we absolutely MUST wear if we want to swim. then there is the gymnasium....we used to play volleyball every day by choice. we were even let to compete with the other units occasionally.
